Our Curriculum

At Camelot Preschool, our learning curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The EYLF was developed to ensure all children in early childhood education and care settings across Australia, experience quality teaching and learning through play- based, holistic learning. The EYLF is made up of learning outcomes, principles, and practices which educators use in their documentation of children’s learning and in their reflection and planning.

Fundamental to the EYLF is a view of children’s lives as characterised by belonging, being and becoming. From before birth children are connected to family, community, culture and place. Their earliest development and learning take place through these relationships. As children participate in everyday life, they develop interests and construct their own identities and understandings of the world.

Our Educational Program

Our programs reflect both planned and spontaneous experiences designed to support children’s development in all domains. Through the EYLF, the program will see educators use intentional teaching, (it is deliberate, purposeful, and thoughtful). We will ensure that we provide many open- ended resources and space to allow children to make choices, take appropriate risks, think critically and independently about ways of being.

Our approach to School Readiness is about much more than a checklist against child’s chronological age. In order to make a successful and happy start to school, children need to also have a firm grasp of language, numeracy, motor coordination, social and emotional skills which is the foundation of our school readiness program.

Our Possums (toddlers) Program

At Camelot Preschool, we provide children with the freedom to explore the world around them, promoting their health and wellbeing. We encourage physical activity and outdoor play, providing opportunities for children to develop gross motor skills and improve their overall physical health.

We believe in allowing children to reach their potential, stimulating and challenging them in a safe and supportive environment. We focus on developing important skills that children will need later in life, such as communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Our Kangaroos (preschool) Program

At Camelot Preschool, we provide a stimulating environment that encourages children’s interests and voices. We offer Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities, creative expression, dramatic play, and reading and writing skills to enrich their learning experience.

We understand that nutrition, health, and wellbeing are crucial components of a child’s overall development. Therefore, we prioritize these areas and incorporate physical activity into our program to keep children healthy and active.
